Badminton in Bradford was initiated in 1999 with the formation of the Keighley Kobras. The first session was attended by 6 children but later the sessions increased to an extent that there were 3 sessions comprising of 20+ children in each.
After two years at Greenhead School the sessions moved to Oakbank Grammar School, where the Kobras trained several Level 1 and Level 2 coaches.
The Kobras expanded to incorporate the Kraven Kobras run from South Craven School in Crosshills. There were two major projects that were undertaken by the Kobras - the first was to make Oakbank School a Badminton Academy and the 2nd was to create the Keighley Kobras as a premier club.
It was with these accolades that in 2009 it was decided that with all these independant cells that the Kobras should front up the Bradford Kobras Performance Centre. The Performance Centre has now been running successfully for three years and runs training cells at Titus Salt School, Beckfoot School, Zara Centre, Oakbank School & Trinity College.
